In previous versions of Windows standard startup sound was in a folder C:\Windows\Media.
Windows 7 standard startup sound file library: imageres.dll, located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder
To edit this file, use the programs: Restorator or PE Explorer.
Before you edit the file make sure you have emptied the folder C:\Windows\rescacheIn PE Explorer:
1) open the file imageres.dll
2) press Ctrl + R or go to menu View-> Resources
3) open WAVE, right click on the location 5080, and then click Edit Resource
4) in the window that opens, press Ctrl + O or on a folder icon with the pointer.
5) select sound in WAV format to replace, then click OK and then YesIn Restorator:
1) open the file imageres.dll
2) open WAVE and drag a resource 5080 what you want to replace the melody start.
3) save your changes by pressing Ctrl + S -
21. Hide selected disks from Windows folder “computer”.
