The most common way to insert the paths to the file or folder in command prompt is as follows:

1) Select the address bar of Windows Explorer folder path.
2) Click on the highlighted right-click and choose Copy.
3) Click on the title of the command window, right-click and select Edit->Paste
And if you want to add the file name and extension, then:
4) Click on the file right-click and select Rename.
5) Select the file name and extension, click on the highlighted right-click and choose copy.

In Windows 7 there are faster ways to do it:

Method 1.

1) Hold down the Shift key, right-click the folder, or file path that you want to add in the command prompt.

Method 2.

Drag the file or folder (path to which you wish to add) directly into the command window in Windows.

Note: the Window from which you drag the file or folder in the command window should have more high or the same rights and permissions than the command window.
