1. create your VPN connection, but does not connect to the Internet or if you are connected, do not disconnect from the Internet before the end of this procedure.

If you have connected the USB device to a computer running Windows 7, and then Disable the device in “Device Manager” or “Safely remove hardware and Eject Media”, using the icon in the system tray, you can watch one of the following symptoms:
- USB device shows continuing signs of activity (such as remaining lit LED indicator)
- USB device keeps getting USB packages and continues to consume energy relevant as active device.
- Physically disconnect Disconnected or Safely Removed USB device may, in some cases, an error in active transfer to another USB device.
To correct this error, do the following:

For a specific device.

1) start Registry Editor (Win + R-> regedit-> Ok)

3) open the corresponding section in the branch that is connected to your computer’s USB device.
4) if the section does not appear, then you create it.

3) right-click and create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named DisableOnSoftRemove
4) right-click on the DisableOnSoftRemove, and then click Modify
5) in the value text box, type 1 and click OK.

If you wish to add more disks to exclude (e.g.: H and I of disks), the value of the key the BootExecute value will look like:

Option 3
1) open the Start menu
2) type in the Run dialog box (Win + R) or search string msconfig and press Enter.
3) select Services and clear the: Shell hardware detection
4) open Start menu
5) type in the Run dialog box (Win + R) or search string services.msc and press Enter.
6) in the Services snap-in, click right-click the Shell hardware detection and select Properties
7) Select startup type – Disabled and click Stop
8) Click OK.
This action also disables Autostart for removable media.
